Always seeking new avenues in which to share her art, on Saturday April 4, 2009 Seoul-based belly dancer Eshe will debut Love Dance, a monthly belly dance night at Bowie in Hongdae, Seoul.
An instructor and performer of the Middle Eastern dance, the Canadian-born Eshe is the belly dancer for folk act Orgeltanz (www.myspace.com/orgeltanz). In 2008 Eshe and Orgeltanz were invited to play at large music and film festivals throughout South Korea and performed live on television station MBC's Nanjang music program. They have also been profiled in many Korean and English print publications over the last year.
In addition to her work with Orgeltanz, Eshe has belly danced with Seoul indie rockers Cocore at Festival Bo:m and participated in the experimental music event Bulgasari at Yogiga Gallery.
Eshe will perform at Love Dance alongside her student troupe, Navah. Navah were formed last spring at Itaewon's Well Being Studio, where they continue to practice their craft. They have been enhancing their performance abilities with well-received sets at club gigs and charity events throughout the city.
